Energy Saving and Room Automation

Our room electronics manage lighting, socket and air-conditioning lines according to the guest’s actual presence. Data from the card holder, the door magnetic contact and the in-room presence sensor is combined in the relay unit; when the room is empty, power is cut automatically.

Three Operating Modes

  • ONLY SAVER: Classic card-based system. Power is switched on when the card is inserted and cut when it is removed. Fast and economical to install.
  • ONLY PIR: Fully automatic sensor system. The guest does not need to insert a card; door and motion sensors track the room.
  • HYBRID: Card and sensors work together. Even if the card is left in the holder, power is cut when nobody is in the room — maximum saving.

A properly configured Energy Saver system can deliver savings of up to 15–30% in room energy consumption. The saving potential becomes even more pronounced in facilities with heavy air-conditioning and lighting loads.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have gathered the questions we hear most often. If you cannot find your answer here, get in touch and our team will come back to you shortly.

What is an Energy Saver system and how does it work?

It is a smart energy control system that automatically manages lighting, socket and air-conditioning lines according to guest presence. It processes data from the card holder, door magnetic contact and presence sensors, cutting power when the room empties and restoring comfort when someone enters.

What is the difference between card, sensor and hybrid systems?

In card mode (ONLY SAVER) power is switched on only when an authorised card is inserted. In sensor mode (ONLY PIR) no card is needed; door and motion sensors run everything automatically. In hybrid mode both work together — even if the card is left in the holder, power is cut when nobody is in the room.

How much does an Energy Saver system save?

The saving rate depends on occupancy and air-conditioning habits. A properly configured system can save up to 15–30% of room energy consumption, and the potential rises further in facilities with heavy air-conditioning and lighting loads.

Which devices in the room can the system control?

General socket lines, lighting groups, independent split air conditioners, VRF/VRV climate systems, fan-coil units, ventilation fans, external door bells and electronic DND panels can all be controlled.

Does the RF holder work with fake cards (business or bank cards)?

No. The system uses 13.56 MHz RF-MIFARE technology and accepts only authorised door cards defined for the hotel. Bank, transit or corporate ID cards will not switch the power on. The card is detected regardless of its orientation.

What is the main difference between HL-17 and RT-106?

The HL-17 is 10 modules wide with 1x30A + 7x16A + 1x5A relay capacity and a built-in 20W SMPS, designed as the main unit for comprehensive and luxury automation projects. The RT-106 is 6 modules wide with 1x30A + 2x16A + 1x5A relays — a more compact, economical solution for standard rooms.

What are the EX-701 and EX-106 expansion relay units for?

They add further lighting control zones to the main relay units. The EX-701 works with the HL-17 to provide 7 extra lighting lines, while the EX-106 works with the RT-106 and other panels to provide 4. Both draw power from the main unit and need no external transformer.

What is the difference between standard Energy Saver and Online Room Automation?

The standard system handles local energy management inside the room. The online system lets occupancy, housekeeping requests (DND/MUR), staff entry/exit times and climate control for every room be monitored live and managed remotely from central software.

Can the power cut out while the guest is in the room?

No. Thanks to advanced motion detection algorithms and scenario timing, power continues uninterrupted while the guest is in the room. A door noise filter also screens out misleading vibrations.

Can my existing card system be converted to a sensor system without major renovation?

Yes. With the Auxiliary Sensor Unit, existing wiring and panel relays are retained while a presence sensor and door contact are added; the card holder is bypassed and the upgrade is completed within minutes. The existing holder can also be kept to run in hybrid mode.

How does the system behave after a power outage?

The system automatically runs its safe start-up procedure and continues managing power stably according to the configured operating scenario.
